The Valley of Fear is a novel of two halves, in the first the master detective Sherlock Holmes is called upon by the police yet again to solve an inexplicable murder and in the second we discover the history that led to that fatal event.
The Valley of Fear was first published in The Strand Magazine between September 1914 and May 1915.
